BLACK FOREST & THE CHRYSANTHEMA FLOWER FESTIVAL

7 Days
Day 1
We depart early this morning for a midday ferry crossing across the English Channel from Dover to Calais and continue through North East France into Belgium for an overnight stop at The Hotel Hamptons at Namur.
Day 2
We continue this morning through Belgium and into Luxembourg and Eastern France this afternoon, before crossing the River Rhine into Germany and the Black Forest region. We arrive at the hotel at the end of the afternoon. The hotel will welcome us with a local Schnapps.
Day 3
Lahr and the Chrysanthema Flower Festival
From the end of October to mid November, the scenic little heritage city of Lahr hosts a major flower festival with thousand of Chrysanthemum arrangements that take over the beautiful centre in a riot of Yellow, Purple and Orange, with special displays and also cultural performances. We take advantage of an afternoon to experience this very special event.
We depart this morning to the scenic little city of Lahr for a morning guided walking
tour during the spectacular Chrysanthema Flower Festival. Sights include the Stork

Day 4
Black Forest Tour -
We take a day guide touring the Black Forest today. This morning we visit Triberg, the focal heritage town of the Black Forest, with attractions including the many clock shops, worlds largest Cuckoo Clock and Waterfalls. Time then to browse the many interesting shops and relax for lunch (not included). This afternoon we make a scenic trip with our guide south to visit the lakeside resort of Titisee and then we continue to descend the Ravenna Gorge to the Hotel Hofgut Sternen to visit the traditional glassblowers and cuckoo clock workshop. We then return to Oberharmersbach.
Day 5
Day at Leisure with local tour and train pass
Today you have a day of leisure at your hotel and the picturesque little historic town of Oberharmersbach. The hotel as arranged a free walking tour around the historic sites of the little town including visits to a heritage farmers house and local Schnapps Distillery. The hotel also provides a free local valley train pass so you can visit the nearby picturesque town of Zell and also the nearby train stop alights at the enormous Mini Golf Park with 18 Mini Golf Courses! (Open weather permitting).
Day 6
We depart after breakfast towards Reims. We arrive by mid afternoon giving time to explore the historic city centre around the cathedral before dinner and our overnight stay at the Hotel Campanile Reims Cathedral.
Day 7
We leave Reims this morning and travel to Calais for our short sea crossing to Dover. Once in Dover we rejoin our coach and complete our return journey arriving in the evening.
