Day 2
Today we travel to Venlo for the Floriade World of Horticultural Expo, held every 10 years it is one of the largest events of it’s kind in the world. The 2012 Floriade features not only the most wonderful displays of flowers, plants, trees, fruit and vegetables across a 100 acre site but also a cultural programme of music, dance, literature, theatre and visual arts from all over the world.
Day 3
This morning we board our coach and travel the short distance to the lovely city of Maastricht, the city is in the provincial capital of Limburg and stands on the River Maas. This popular destination full of markets, pavement cafes, bistro’s and boutiques give the city an almost Mediterranean feel. We return to Valkenburg early afternoon. Where we have a few hours at leisure. Maybe visit the castle ruins or into the caves for which the town is well known or a look around the lovely town centre before we return to our hotel.
Day 4
After breakfast we board our coach and commence the homeward journey. We travel into Belgium and on into Northern France as we head towards Calais. On reaching Calais we board the ferry for the return crossing to Dover. From here we continue our journey home arriving early evening.
