A WIGHT CHRISTMAS ON THE ISLE OF WIGHT
Staying at the Melbourne Ardenlea Hotel, Shanklin
Sunday 23rd -
5 Days
Day 1
We board our coach this morning and make our way to Portsmouth for our short ferry crossing to the Isle of Wight. We then make the transfer to our hotel with time to settle into our room for our Christmas holiday before meeting for afternoon tea. Our three course dinner this evening will be followed by entertainment.
Day 2 (Christmas Eve)
This morning enjoy a full English Breakfast before collecting your Christmas quiz sheet from reception. We board our coach for a tour of some of the many interesting places on this lovely island. We return to the hotel for afternoon tea with biscuits and Christmas cake followed by Bingo for those who wish to take part. This evening we have a festive three course meal followed by songs at the piano.
Day 3 (Christmas Day)
A full English breakfast to start Christmas Day along with a present from Santa. We continue our traditional Christmas Day and relax with morning coffee and later a splendid Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. Watch the Queen’s speech before afternoon tea with mince pies. Our Christmas meal this evening will be the chef’s special Buffet Dinner. After dinner we have answers to that quiz that you have been working on (with prizes) followed by dancing to recorded big bands, board games or add to the big jigsaw puzzle in the lounge.
Day 4 (Boxing Day)
After breakfast we take a festive trip on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway followed by a glass of sherry or fruit juice and a mince pie. We return to the hotel for a finger buffet lunch then an afternoon “at leisure” before tea in the lounge at 4pm. We have an early dinner tonight (6pm) followed by a trip to the pantomime (optional at the time of booking).
Day 5
We leave the hotel this morning and board our coach for the return journey. The ferry takes us from Fishbourne to Portsmouth. We then rejoin the coach and make our way home arriving in the afternoon.
