LILLE CHRISTMAS MARKET

Day 1
We board our coach for an early start to travel to Dover for our short sea crossing to Calais. On arrival in Calais we rejoin our coach and travel on to Lille and to the Altia Hotel for our three nights stay.

Day 2
Today is spent in Lille to enjoy the Christmas market which is held in the centre of town at the Place Rihour. The Place is taken over by stalls selling arts and crafts and local cuisine. There is a real Christmas spirit to be enjoyed here and Lille, lit with Christmas lights, looks really magical.
Day 3
Today we have an excursion to Brugge to the Christmas market here which is held in the Market Square. The 30 stalls here sell traditional gifts and speciality foods. A toy fair complete with crib and carols adds to the Christmas atmosphere and there is an ice rink for the adventurous. This afternoon we visit Ghent where we can wander amongst the wooden huts in search of gifts serenaded by a choir singing carols, live jazz or rock music and once again an ice rink. We return to our hotel by late afternoon.
Day 4
This morning we leave the lovely Christmas scene in Lille and make our way through France and on to Calais for our return crossing to Dover. Once in Dover we board our coach and make our way homeward arriving in the evening.
