NORMANDY’S FLOWER COAST & MONET’S GIVERNY

Day 1

We board our coach this morning and travel to Dover for our sea crossing to Calais. On reaching Calais we rejoin our coach and head south passing Boulogne and Le Havre to reach the Mercure Pont-l’Eveque Hotel for our three night stay and tour of the wonderful Flower Coast.

 

Day 2

Today we visit the lovely city of Rouen with it’s narrow cobbled streets and the market place where Joan of Arc met her demise. After some free time in Rouen we visit Honfleur with it’s charming harbour with cafes dotted along the dockside. The slate fronted houses and fishing village atmosphere make this one of the prettiest spots in Normandy. We return to the hotel via the Flower Coast.

 

Day 3

Our excursion today is to Vernon to visit Monet’s famous garden at Giverny. We can see the wonderful house and beautiful gardens that remain a magnet for art and garden lovers worldwide. This afternoon our route takes us across country to Liseaux, home to the magnificent St Theresa’s Basilica.

 

Day 4

This morning we begin our homeward journey, making the usual comfort stops en route to Calais before joining our ferry to return to Dover and our homeward journey back to the Forest of Dean, arriving early evening.
