SCARBOROUGH AND THE NORTH YORK MOORS
Staying at the Ambassador Hotel, Scarborough

Day 1
Following a morning departure we travel northward to Yorkshire and on to the seaside resort of Scarborough for our four night stay at the Ambassador Hotel
Day 2
Today is at leisure to enjoy Scarborough, Britain’s first holiday resort which is as popular today as it was in it’s Victorian heyday. Walk along the magnificent esplanade through the gardens, explore the castle and the harbour or enjoy the sandy beaches. A cliff lift will take you to the town centre where there are a wide variety of shops and restaurants.
Day 3
Today we travel to the attractive town of Pickering to board the North York Moors Railway for a journey through the North York Moors National Park. Disembark at Goathland of “Heartbeat” fame and a location for more recent Harry Potter Films. After some time in Goathland we rejoin our coach and continue to the lovely fishing port of Whitby. Whitby is bursting with character and quite unique where little has changed since the days of the young James Cooke. We return to the hotel in good time for dinner.
Day 4
Our planned excursion today takes us along the coast to Filey once a popular retreat of Charlotte Bronte and Frederic Delius. Beautiful gardens, old fisherman's cottages and miles of sandy beach makes this town well worth a visit. We travel on then for some time in the award winning resort of Bridlington before taking a scenic route through the Yorkshire Wolds back to our hotel.
Day 5
We leave Scarborough this morning and head south arriving home in the afternoon.
