SCOTTISH CASTLES AND PALACES

Staying at the Angus Hotel, Blairgowrie

Monday 11th April – Friday 15th April

5 Days

 

Day 1

Following an early start we make our way northwards making several refreshment and comfort stops en route. We reach the Angus hotel at Blairgowrie by early evening and spend the next four nights here for our Castles and Palaces break. This evening we have a welcome drinks reception and a “Castles and Palaces Presentation”.

 

Day 2

Today we have a morning visit to Blair Castle with a guided tour. Blair castle is the ancient seat of the Dukes of Atholl and home to the Atholl Highlanders. During the afternoon we have a tour of the Blair Atholl Distillery before returning to the hotel to enjoy afternoon tea. This evening we have a dinner dance with cabaret entertainment.

 

Day 3

This morning we head towards Perth and have a guided tour of Scone Palace. Scone Palace is regarded as a national treasure and was once the crowning place of the Kings of Scots as well as the rightful home of the Stone of Scone. This afternoon we have a tour of the Glenturret Distillery before once again returning to enjoy afternoon tea at the hotel. Dinner this evening will be a Scottish experience with themed menu and entertainment.

 

Day 4

Today we visit Glamis Castle and we include a guided tour. Glamis Castle is the childhood home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. We can admire the stunning architecture, learn of the history and enjoy the beautiful grounds and gardens. We once again enjoy afternoon tea on our return and have entertainment following dinner this evening.

 

Day 5

This morning we bid farewell to our hosts at Blairgowrie and commence our journey homeward, making the usual stops. We arrive home during the evening.
