Day 1

We board our coach this morning for our journey to Huntingdon. En-route we make a stop in Bicester Outlet Shopping Complex. We arrive at our hotel during the afternoon with time to relax or make use of the leisure facilities before our evening dinner.

 

Day 2

This morning we have a guided tour of the University City of Cambridge. Following this two hour tour we make the relatively short journey to spend the afternoon at Audley End House and Gardens. Audley End House is one of England’s grandest stately homes and provides an insight into life “Upstairs/Downstairs”.

 

Day 3

Our excursion today is to Ely a cathedral city founded in AD 673 and situated on the banks of the Great Ouse River. We can visit the magnificent Cathedral which was built by William the Conqueror as a prominent out post after the bloody & lengthy rebellion by Hereward the Wake and considered one of the seven wonders of the medieval world. Ely was once home to Oliver Cromwell, in this position as tax collector Ely today retains many of its historic buildings with winding shopping streets and is a treat to visit and explore. We have time to experience this fascinating city before returning to our hotel this afternoon.

 

Day 4

Today we make our homeward journey. We make a stop in the lovely town of Stratford on Avon. Later we continue towards home arriving by late afternoon
