SWITZERLAND -
Staying at the Eurotel Victoria Hotel Villars

8 Days
Day 1
Following an early start we travel to Dover where we board the ferry for the short sea crossing to Calais. On arrival we rejoin our coach and travel through Northern France to Reims, here we spend the night at the Quality Enzo hotel.
Day 2
This morning we continue through France and the Champagne region and on passing the city of Nancy, we continue via the Alsace region crossing the Vosges Mountains towards the city of Mulhouse and on to the Swiss border at Basel, from here we travel via the capital city of Bern and on to the mountain resort of Villars, here we spend five nights at the Eurotel Victoria, the hotel occupies a position close to the centre of Villars and has an indoor swimming pool and leisure area.
Day 3
Today we have at leisure in Villars, included is a Villars Access Card, this allows free unlimited use of the local trains, coaches and Gondola lifts.
Day 4
A full day today travelling along the Rhone Valley and into the mountains to Tãsch, here we board the train for the short journey to the beautiful traffic free stunning mountain resort of Zermatt, from here there are fine views of the Matterhorn mountain, later we board the train for the return journey to Tãsch, here we rejoin our coach and return to Villars.
Day 5
After breakfast we board our coach and travel via Martigny and through the mountains and cross the border into France and on to the popular resort of Chamonix, here we have time for shopping and sightseeing or maybe visit the Ice Caves, later we continue via Annemasse and onto the lovely town of Evian on the Southern shore of Lake Geneva, later we return to Villars.
Day 6
Today we spend on the Swiss side of Lake Geneva first we visit the lovely resort of Lausanne with its attractive Ouchy harbour area, later we travel through the Picturesque town of Vevey to the popular resort of Montreux, we return to Villars by late afternoon.
Day 7
This morning we leave this lovely area and commence the homeward journey, we travel via the border city of Basel into France to the lovely Medieval town of Colmar, later we travel through the vineyards of the Alsce region as we cross the Vosges Mountains and onto Reims, here we spend our last night at the Mercure Hotel.
Day 8
After breakfast we travel to Calais where we board the ferry for the return crossing to Dover, here we rejoin our coach and continue our journey towards home, arriving by early evening.
