YORK - ST NICHOLAS FAYRE

Staying at the Ramada Wetherby Hotel, Wetherby

Day 1

Following a morning departure we travel northwards making the usual refreshment stops en-route, we reach the Ramada Wetherby Hotel in the afternoon for our three nights stay.

 

Day 2

Today we visit St Nicholas Fayre. This outstanding fayre remains one of the most popular Christmas markets in the UK. The event is spread out over several markets in the streets of York. There is a range of markets specialising in gifts, crafts and local produce. The specialist Medieval market in the Barley Hall and the Arts and Crafts market in St Williams College are events not to be missed. We have plenty of time here to enjoy the Christmas atmosphere before returning to our hotel in the afternoon.

 

Day 3

Today we visit Skipton. This country market town at the southern base of the Yorkshire Dales has a castle, Cobbled streets and canal boats and is well worth a visit, We have some free time in Skipton before making our way to Harrogate. Harrogate is famous for Bettys tea shop, Turkish baths and antique shops. We can enjoy Harrogate this afternoon before returning to our hotel.

 

Day 4

We begin our homeward journey this morning having enjoyed Northern hospitality and the festive experience of St Nicholas Fayre. We enjoy a leisurely journey home making comfort and refreshment stops to arrive by late afternoon
